Message from Ms Walker
It has been another busy but successful week at school, with lots of exciting learning and achievements to celebrate across all year groups. We have been especially grateful that the weather has been much cooler than last week, allowing us to continue with our usual routines and enjoy learning both inside and outside the classroom more comfortably. Thank you, as always, for your continued support – we hope you enjoy reading about all that has been happening this week.
This week's news is from Rowan Class (Year 1/2)
Rowan class had a fantastic time at The Natural History Museum on Thursday 2nd July.
We learnt about bugs and why they are so important in the food chain.
“I liked touching the beetles,” Taylor, Rosie, Tom, Alfie P, Finn, Elijah.
“I liked looking at the huge dinosaur skeletons best.” Bobby.
Ice Lollies
Rowan class will be selling ice lollies on Tuesday 14th July, after school, to raise awareness and money for the NSPCC. Please save the date!
Library Books
As we approach the end of term, please could we ask all families to have a look at home for any school library books that may have been borrowed. Returning books before the end of term helps us keep our library well stocked and ready for everyone to enjoy next year. Thank you for your support!
Message from the Parish Council
We’re pleased to share that building work on site will begin on Monday 6th July.
To support this, a section of the area behind the school hall will be used for skips and work vehicles. This will extend only as far as the first tree behind the hall, leaving approximately seven parking spaces available.
The area will be clearly marked out by Sunday 5th July to help everyone see where access is limited.
We anticipate that the majority of the work will take place during the school holidays, helping to minimise disruption to the school day.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
Updates & Reminders
Allergies
Just a reminder we have children in school with serious allergies please do not send your child in with items containing nuts, this includes chocolate spread, peanut butter and products containing a chocolate filling like Nutella or chocolate bars containing nuts. We have had a few occasions recently where we have found items have been sent into school in packed lunches which contain nuts.
Safety
A friendly reminder to all parents and carers: children in Year 4 and below must be accompanied onto the school site by an adult and should not be dropped off to walk in alone. This applies to all arrivals, including Breakfast Club and late arrivals to school.
Children in Years 5 and 6 may arrive unaccompanied if they have permission from their parents/carers; however, they must not be responsible for bringing younger siblings onto the school site.
The Parish Hall car park and surrounding area present significant challenges. Please do not park on the corner, obscuring the view round the bend, as this is dangerous: this is not a safe space to leave a vehicle. Please supervise young children closely in this area.
