Message from Ms Walker

A very warm welcome back to all our children, families and staff as we begin another exciting school year at Launton CE Primary School. We hope you enjoyed a restful summer break and have returned refreshed and ready for the term ahead. It has been wonderful to see smiling faces back in school, reconnecting with friends and settling quickly into their new classes. The term has started smoothly, and we already have many exciting learning opportunities, events and activities planned. There are also a number of important dates for your diary, which can be found in the dates section at the end of this newsletter.

Curriculum

Thank you to everyone who completed our recent parent questionnaire. We listened carefully to your feedback and recognised that many families would welcome more information about what their child will be learning throughout the year. To support this, curriculum information for the Autumn Term will be available on our website from Friday 11th September under 'Our Curriculum' and 'Autumn Term Overviews'.

In addition, we are delighted to be holding Class Exhibitions on Tuesday 20th October (times to be confirmed), giving parents and carers the opportunity to see the wonderful work the children have been completing in their classrooms and celebrate their learning together.

Behaviour Policy

Our updated Behaviour Policy is now available on the school website under 'Our School' and 'Policies'. There are a number of changes and additions within the policy, so we encourage all parents and carers to take the time to read it carefully to ensure that the school's expectations are clear and understood. If you have any questions about the policy or how it is implemented, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Permissions on Arbor

We would like to remind all parents and carers to check and complete the permissions section on Arbor at their earliest convenience. In particular, parents and carers of children in Years 5 and 6 are asked to provide their preferences regarding whether their child is permitted to walk home independently. We would also appreciate it if all families could review and complete permissions relating to photographs and local village walks, as these are important for school activities and communications throughout the year. Thank you for your support in helping us keep our records accurate and up to date.

Important Update: Allergy and Anaphylaxis Management

As part of new national requirements for schools, we are updating our procedures and policy for supporting pupils with allergies and those at risk of anaphylaxis. The safety and wellbeing of all children remains our highest priority, and these changes will help ensure that we can respond effectively to any allergic reactions in school. A draft copy of our Allergy and Anaphylaxis Policy is available to view on the school website. We would also ask all parents and carers to ensure that the school has up-to-date information about any allergies their child may have. If you have not yet informed us of an allergy, or if your child's medical needs have changed, please contact the school office as soon as possible so that our records can be updated.

Please also ensure that any medication required in school is provided in its original packaging, clearly labelled with the pharmacy dispensing label, and placed in a named container or box. This helps us to store and administer medication safely and in accordance with school procedures.

Mrs Loosley

This week, we will be saying farewell to Mrs Loosley as she begins her retirement. Although this decision has come quite recently, we could not let the moment pass without recognising her many years of dedicated service to our school. Throughout her time at Launton CE Primary School, she has made a significant contribution both as a Teaching Assistant and as a valued member of the office team. Mrs Loosley has supported countless children, families and colleagues with kindness, care and commitment, and she has been an important part of our school community for many years. She will be greatly missed by us all, and we would like to thank her for everything she has done for the school.

We kindly ask that children leave smart watches at home. Thank you for your support in helping us maintain a focused, safe and positive learning environment for all pupils.
