Message from Ms Walker
Welcome back to school! We hope all of our children and families enjoyed a restful and enjoyable half-term break. It has been wonderful to see everyone return refreshed and ready for learning. We are looking forward to an exciting and busy term ahead, with lots of engaging learning opportunities, special events, and memorable experiences planned for our pupils.
Year 6 Cake and Craft Sale
We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who contributed to and supported our Year 6 Cake and Craft Sale. Thanks to your kindness and generosity, we raised almost £500!
This fantastic amount will help make our Year 6 leavers' trip at the end of the year much more affordable for everyone.
If you missed out on one of our amazing 3D-printed figures or handmade crochet crafts, don't worry, look out for our stall at the PTA Summer Fair, where there will be another opportunity to purchase them.
Thank you once again for your support.
Year 6
Rocksteady
The children had an amazing time yesterday taking part in our Rocksteady Day! There was a real buzz around the school as they experienced what it’s like to be part of a band, playing music together and having lots of fun. Even some of the teachers had a go!
📚✨ Pyjamarama is Coming! ✨📚
Join us on Friday 12th June for a cosy day of reading and fun! Wear your favourite school-appropriate pyjamas and bring a £1 donation to help support children's reading.
On Friday 12th June, we will be taking part in Pyjamarama, a special event that celebrates the joy of reading while raising money to help ensure every child can experience the benefits of books and stories. If children would like to they invited to come to school wearing their pyjamas for the day and enjoy a range of reading activities with their friends. We ask for a £1 donation to support this wonderful cause. Thank you for helping us promote a love of reading while making a difference to children across the country.
Water Safety Advice from Oxfordshire County Council Fire and Rescue Service
Spending time near water can be fun, especially in warm weather, but open water can be dangerous even if you are a strong swimmer. Rivers, lakes, canals, quarries and reservoirs can be much colder than they look, with hidden hazards and strong currents.
- Do not jump, dive or swim in open water unless it is a supervised, designated place.
- Never go near water alone - stay with friends and make sure someone knows where you are.
- Be aware that cold water shock can affect anyone, even strong swimmers, and can make it hard to breathe or move.
- Rivers, canals and lakes may have hidden dangers under the surface such as rocks, rubbish, weeds, fishing line or sudden drops.
- Do not take risks to impress others, including dares, bridge jumps or entering the water for social media content.
- If you fall in, try to stay calm, float on your back, keep your airway clear and control your breathing.
- If you see someone in trouble, call 999 or 112, shout for help, and throw something that floats. Do not go in after them.
- If possible, choose supervised swimming venues or pools instead of unsupervised open water.
Remember: Enjoy the good weather, look out for your mates, and stay safe around water.
Updates & Reminders
Safety
A friendly reminder to all parents and carers: children in Year 4 and below must be accompanied onto the school site by an adult and should not be dropped off to walk in alone. This applies to all arrivals, including Breakfast Club and late arrivals to school.
Children in Years 5 and 6 may arrive unaccompanied if they have permission from their parents/carers; however, they must not be responsible for bringing younger siblings onto the school site.
The Parish Hall car park and surrounding area present significant challenges. Please do not park on the corner, obscuring the view round the bend, as this is dangerous: this is not a safe space to leave a vehicle. Please supervise young children closely in this area.
Allergies
Just a reminder we have children in school with serious allergies please do not send your child in with items containing nuts, this includes chocolate spread, peanut butter and products containing a chocolate filling like Nutella or chocolate bars containing nuts. We have had a few occasions recently where we have found items have been sent into school in packed lunches which contain nuts.

A big thank to everyone who donated clothes to Rags2Riches this week. In particular, thanks to Catherine, who having collected a whole roomful of bags, needed to recruit some kind fellow parents to help transport all the bags up to school (there were that many bags!).
We collected a whopping 636kg of preloved clothes which equates to nearly £160!! An astonishing amount - well done everyone.
Cuddly toys collection
We are holding a cuddly toy tombola/game at the summer BBQ so are after any donations of preloved cuddly toys for prizes. If you have any preloved cuddly toys in good condition that are looking for a new home then please pass them on to one of the Committee.
