Message from Ms Walker

What a lovely week it has been with the sun finally shining!  As we begin the summer term, I am delighted to share how wonderfully the children have settled back into school life. It has been a pleasure to see such positive energy around the school, with pupils returning ready to learn and engage.

Times Tables Rock Stars

Last week, our children took part in the Times Tables Rock Stars Bicester competition, and what a fantastic effort they made. Throughout the school day, they worked incredibly hard to earn as many points as possible, showing real focus and determination. What impressed me most, however, was their commitment beyond the classroom, as many continued practising at home with the same enthusiasm. Thanks to their dedication and teamwork, Launton School were crowned winners among all the participating schools. I am extremely proud of each and every one of them for their achievement.

It was quite hard because as you were playing, you couldn’t see the scores so you didn’t know what to beat. Also, you only had an hour limit so on the final day you knew once your time was up, you couldn’t do anymore! It was really fun to play against other schools!

Important Date Change: The Year 6 Summer Play will now take place on Thursday 9th July at 6:00pm, instead of the previously advertised date of Wednesday 8th July at 6:00pm. Please update your calendars accordingly.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support. We are looking forward to a busy and exciting term ahead.

Updates & Reminders

Safety

The playground gates are opened at 3.10pm to allow parents and carers to collect children more easily than from the car park. If you have a small child with you, they must not climb on school equipment. The trim trail looks superficially like climbing equipment found in some public play areas but it has been designed to be safely used under teacher supervision only and by older pupils.

The Parish Hall car park and surrounding area present significant challenges. Please do not park on the corner, obscuring the view round the bend, as this is dangerous: this is not a safe space to leave a vehicle. Please supervise young children closely in this area.

Allergies

Just a reminder we have children in school with serious allergies please do not send your child in with items containing nuts, this includes chocolate spread, peanut butter and products containing a chocolate filling like Nutella or chocolate bars containing nuts. We have had a few occasions recently where we have found items have been sent into school in packed lunches which contain nuts.
